About
Our School
Tim Stadelman is a man of action. He began donating his time and expertise as an electrical contractor to a Maryknoll mission called Caminando por la Paz in 2004. He soon realized that education was a key factor in determining a positive outcome in the lives of young people in Chamelecon, Honduras. In 2014 he found a large house for sale in the heart of the community. He purchased it and with the help of dedicated teachers, parents and other volunteers from Oregon, he made a dream become a reality. In this community where peace is tenuous, the dream is fragile, but it continues on.

Graduating Class 2018
This video was produced in 2014. Some of the statistics are old, but the British company did a pretty good job of reporting on Caminando por la Paz at the time. Like so much entertainment, Unreported World does lapse in to sensationalism at times. In particular, none of our students have to worry if they will have enough money to attend school. We always cover them, as soon as our administrators tell us they have a family with financial issues. However, much of the rest of their reporting is factual. Updates: Yorleny is now, as of 2021, attending Catholic University, in her second year of the medical program.
